Silver Santas is an all-volunteer grassroots project that delivers customized gift bags to isolated and low-income seniors throughout Pinellas County via Providers (assisted living communities) who register with us.

How it Works

2026 Fall Program:

1. Deserving Seniors who are in danger of being forgotten this holiday season are identified by professionals at assisted living facilities who have registered with us ("Providers"). Providers can register with us at a link that we send out in September; after you’re approved, you can submit recipient wish lists (Christmas Tree "Tags") using our confidential Silver Santas "Tag Entry" Form. If you are registered as an approved Provider and need assistance, contact us at silversantas.info@gmail.com. Tag Entry Submission closes at 6PM on October 2nd, 2026.

2. Gift tags for the recipients are placed on trees at various locations in Pinellas County starting early November.  Kind “Silver Santa Shoppers” select a tag and go shopping! We'll announce the Tree Sites in early November.

3. Once items are purchased, the Silver Santa Shopper takes the items, along with the gift tag, back to the place where they picked up the tag, or to the alternate location printed on the tag, as soon as possible, or by Tuesday December 1 at the latest. The due date is also printed on the tag. Our volunteers check the bags against the Tags and complete anything that's missing.

4. Once gift bags are completed, we notify the Providers that bags are ready to be picked up and distributed to their residents during the holidays!

Alternatively: In lieu of adopting an individual senior, we welcome general donations of new clothing, new hygiene products, candy, and small personal items to help fill out the gift bags.  If you wish to purchase and send items  for seniors in general, you can click on the boxes below for our most-needed items. You can have these sent to the delivery address below.

(NOTE: Please Verify Delivery address is:  Silver Santas 14202 62ND ST N, CLEARWATER, FL 33760-2717)

4. Gift bags are then sorted and checked against the tags, and when they're complete, Providers pick up the bags and distribute them to designated recipients in time for the holidays.
